Frequently asked questions
What exactly does Vareth do?
We review private-company opportunities, identify acquirers whose registered criteria fit, and introduce the parties directly. We do not value businesses, represent either side, negotiate, or run transactions.
What does it cost me?
Nothing for the marketplace. No submission fee, no listing fee, and no Vareth success fee if you sell to a buyer we introduced.
How do you make money if sellers don't pay?
Buyers pay for curated access and completed introductions. Relevant deal flow is the scarce resource in this market, and that is what the buy side is willing to fund.
Will my business be publicly listed?
No. Your opportunity is never published, searchable or browsable. Only buyers we have matched to it see an anonymous profile.
When is my identity revealed?
At the introduction stage, with your approval. Not before, and not to any buyer who has not accepted the applicable confidentiality terms.
Can I decline a buyer?
Yes. You approve identity disclosure and direct contact. If you do not want to meet someone, it does not happen.
I already have an M&A advisor. Can I still use Vareth?
Yes, and many sellers do. Name your advisor at submission and every introduction is routed to them. Your engagement with them is unaffected.
Do you tell me what my business is worth?
No. Vareth does not provide valuations or opinions on price. You should get independent advice on value.
Do you check the buyers?
Yes. We review identity, organization, role and acquisition mandate, and, where appropriate to the opportunity and buyer type, track record and funding approach. That is a marketplace review, not a guarantee of behaviour.
What documents do I need?
Enough to establish authority and support a preliminary buyer view: entity and ownership documentation, and financial records appropriate to your size and type of business. We tell you what is missing rather than guessing.
Are my financials verified?
They are labelled seller-reported. We review supporting documents for basic consistency, but we do not audit, recalculate or certify figures, and we do not claim to.
What size businesses do you work with?
Established U.S. businesses of roughly $2M to $50M in annual revenue, with exceptions where we have buyer demand that fits.
Does submitting commit me to selling?
No. You can stop at any stage.
What if you decline my business?
We tell you why. Most declines are procedural: authority we could not confirm, information too incomplete, or no current buyer demand in your sector. Where it is fixable, we tell you what would fix it.
