About Vareth

A marketplace that says what it does

Vareth Intelligence connects private-company opportunities with acquirers whose criteria genuinely fit. It is deliberate about where that role ends.

01

The first connection is the part that goes wrong

Private-company M&A has a discovery problem before it has a transaction problem.

Owners frequently do not know which acquirers should genuinely want their business, and the ones who find them are often the ones who found everybody. Acquirers spend a great deal of professional time filtering opportunities that were never within their mandate. Advisors solve part of this well. But many owners do not want full representation, or already have an advisor who simply wants better buyer coverage.

None of that is a failure of effort. It is a structural information problem, and it happens before anyone has negotiated anything.

Vareth exists to improve the quality of that first connection. The test we hold ourselves to: the two parties we introduce should be parties who would have wanted to meet anyway and who would probably never have found each other.

02

Four positions we have taken

01

Fewer, better introductions beat a bigger database

A marketplace with fewer opportunities and higher relevance is more valuable than a large one that transfers all the filtering to its users. We would rather be judged on introduction quality than listing volume.

02

Trust comes from specificity

Anyone can claim to be trustworthy. Very few define their terms. We publish what each verification label means, what our standards are, and where our role ends because a claim you can check is worth more than one you cannot.

03

Advisors are participants, not obstacles

We are not building a business on the idea that advisors are unnecessary. Many owners are better served by having one. We work with them, route introductions to them, and stay out of their fee.

04

Say what the process actually is

Our matching is done by people working to a structured standard. It would be easy to call that AI and harder to justify. We describe it accurately, and we would rather earn the automation claim later than borrow it now.

03

Our focus

Established U.S. businesses of approximately $2M to $50M in annual revenue, across sectors, with buyers ranging from private equity firms and family offices to corporate development teams, independent sponsors, search funds and qualified individual acquirers.

We take opportunities outside that range where we have buyer demand that fits, and we say so when we do not.
